Autumn continues to grow everyday. She is the most joyful little baby we have ever met and her bond with us is incredible. The miracle of this adoption still amazes us. This quote by Charles Spurgeon feels very close to our hearts,
"If the Lord makes us wait, let us do so with our whole hearts: for blessed are all those who wait for Him. He is worth waiting for. The waiting itself is beneficial to us: it tries faith, exercises patience, trains submission, and endears the blessing when it comes."
God was making a plan far better than ours this entire time. Recently, we had our second visit with Autumn's birthmother. For the first time, she met the boys, Josiah's family, and a few of our friends. She brought her mother and sister as well. We still approach these meetings with prayer and care (I don't think that is something that will ever change), but we have been so thankful for how well they have gone. I know allowing the birthmother into our world is a controversial choice, but so far we have seen so much power in choosing love over fear. This recent visit, Autumn's birthmother said it was the first time she had felt complete peace about Autumn's life. This meeting also gave her and I a chance to talk more candidly. Since Autumn's birth, she has made some very positive changes in her life and is feeling very encouraged and supported. This was awesome news. She is someone who will always be on my heart and mind, as she is a vital person in my daughters life.
Thank you for your continued prayers as we transition through this process. We truly continue to pray for all of you. Our God is so great.
