We have had a pretty hectic week. Jo tore some cartilage in his knee and will probably need surgery, Luca had an infection in his mouth, and the kids were up a ton at night, all of these things combined made life pretty hectic. This being our anniversary, week I couldn't help but think, "even when its crazy, this is exactly where I want to be". Even the crazy (and crappy) weeks are better than not being together. Each and everyday I am grateful, and sometimes amazed, that I get to experience life with the most beautiful person inside and out. God has blessed me beyond measure... and I am excited for what is to come.
A few weeks ago for my sister-in-law's bridal shower, we made a book about love as one of the shower activities. Before the shower, Braydon and Milo filled out a page, and I was surprised to see just how much they have observed about love and marriage. Since they are very much the product of our love, I asked them a few questions about Jo and me and our marriage. Who better to tell our story than the little boys who see it everyday.
What’s a “husband and wife”?
Braydon: “It’s after you get married.”
Milo: “Who knows?”
What is love?
Braydon: “Love makes you feel really, really good.”
Milo: “It means that you start to like someone more and more. And, it makes you really happy.”
What do you do when you love someone?
Braydon: “You hug them and kiss them. You say good things and make special surprises.”
Milo: “I make fun of them. Then I make them policemans.”
Why did Dad and I get married?
Braydon: "Because you love each other. I know that because you make Dad treats and Dad gives you dresses."
Milo: "I think you love each other but I don't know why."
How long have we been married?
Braydon: "Hours."
Milo: "Yep, hours.... or minutes.
Do you like being in our family?
Braydon: "Yes, because I love you and Dad."
Milo: "Ya, I like you guys."
